New Liverpool winger Victor Munoz has suffered a fresh injury setback.Munoz completed a move to Anfield in the region of £35 million from Osasuna on Thursday to become the maiden signing of Andoni Iraola’s fledgling tenure. The Spain international, who has signed a six-year contract with the Reds, is currently at the World Cup after being named in Spain’s 26-man squad. But Munoz’s involvement at the tournament has been plunged into fresh doubt due to a calf problem despite returning to training ahead of their clash with Saudi Arabia. The Royal Spanish Football Federation confirmed on Friday that the 22-year-old is sidelined for the foreseeable future after a fresh muscle injury was diagnosed.“During [Munoz’s] scheduled and individualised recovery process, an additional muscle injury has occurred, which will delay his return to competition,” read the statement.“His availability for upcoming matches will depend on his progress and rehabilitation in the coming days.”Liverpool saw off competition from several European clubs to land the highly-rated former Real Madrid winger, who was previously in line for a move to Newcastle.
