Florida Football has a Player Drafted in Every Round of the NFL Draft for the First Time in School History

2
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Devin Moore (Dallas Cowboys), George Gumbs Jr. (Indianapolis Colts), Trey Smack (Green Bay Packers) and Tommy Doman (Buffalo Bills) round out a seven-selection 2026 NFL Draft for Florida Football. The Gators' seven draft picks are tied for the 10th most this year.

The selections come after defensive tackle Caleb Banks was selected 18th overall by the Minnesota Vikings Thursday. Offensive linemen Jake Slaughter (second round, pick 63) and Austin Barber (third round, pick 86) heard their names called by the Los Angeles Chargers and Cleveland Browns, respectively.

The Gators had a draft pick in all seven rounds this year, marking the first such occasion in program history. Florida has fallen just short of accomplishing the feat four times (2020, Round 5; 2017, Round 5; 2013, Round 7; 2003, Round 3).

Florida continued its streak of having a pick in every NFL Draft since 1967. UF is one of three schools, along with USC and Michigan, and is the only SEC program to achieve the mark.

Devin Moore (Round 4, Pick 114 – Dallas Cowboys)

Moore joined the Gators as a four-star cornerback and All-American Bowl participant out of Naples, Fla. After spending time as a reserve across his freshman and sophomore campaigns, Moore broke onto the scene in 2024. Despite battling through injury, Moore made six starts, recording 17 tackles (eight solo), two pass break-ups and an interception, which he returned 52 yards.

In 2025, Moore posted his best collegiate season, starting 11 games at corner with 35 tackles (23 solo), two interceptions and four pass breakups, two TFLs, one sack and one forced fumble, across 646 snaps. Moore paced all Gators with an 83.0 defensive grade and an 81.5 coverage grade per Pro Football Focus (PFF).

He participated in the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, where the Naples native posted the 11th-best Next Gen Stats Draft Model score, 75, while boasting the third-best production score for a cornerback at 80.

Moore graduated from the University of Florida in Fall 2025 with a degree in General Business and was named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll in each of his four years at Florida.

The fourth-round selection is set to join four other former Gators in Dallas, including two defensive teammates from Florida's 2024 roster, LB Shemar James and CB Trikweze Bridges.

George Gumbs Jr. (Round 5, Pick 156 – Indianapolis Colts)

Gumbs Jr., a former tight end turned EDGE rusher, joined the Gators as a transfer in 2024. He has appeared in 23 games with 13 starts. In Gainesville, Gumbs Jr. accumulated 67 tackles, 15 tackles-for-loss, eight sacks, two forced fumbles and two pass break-ups over two seasons.

In 2025, the Chicago, Ill., native posted 31 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, 2.5 sacks and a team high two force fumbles while playing 402 snaps in 10 starts at EDGE for the Gators. His 6.5 TFLs were the second most on the team and earned a season-best PFF Run Defense grade of 92.6 against LSU. In 2024, Gumbs Jr finished with 8.0 TFLs, 5.0 sacks, and 35 tackles.

At NIU in 2023, Gumbs Jr. finished with 32 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 12 games during the first season on defense. He posted three tackles, a solo sack and a forced fumble in NIU's game against Nebraska (Sept. 16). In 2022, Gumbs Jr. served on the special teams unit and as a tight end, where he had four catches for 44 yards.

Gumbs earned his degree in education sciences this past fall from the University of Florida. He was also named to the NFF Hampshire Honors Society and as a member of the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2024.

The senior took part in the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, where his 41.0-inch vertical jump tied the second-best mark ever posted by a DE/EDGE at the combine. His score of 77 on the Next Gen Stats Draft Model score was the seventh-best by a DE/EDGE at the combine, and his 4.66 40-yard dash was the eighth-best by a DE/EDGE.

Trey Smack (Round 6, Pick 216 – Green Bay Packers)

Smack took over primary kicking responsibilities ahead of Week 4 of the 2023 season, becoming one of the best kickers in program history. Smack set the record for the most 50-plus yard field goals by a Gator with 10. The senior also holds status in the Florida record book with the third-most field goals made (53), the second longest field goal made (56 yards) and is the third most accurate extra point kicker in program history, making all but one of his 101 attempts.

The Severna Park, Md., native finished his Gator career 53-of-64 (82.81%) on field goal attempts, racking up 259 points in 37 games. Smack leaves Gainesville well decorated, being tabbed as a Lou Groza Award semifinalist twice (2023, 2025), a three-time SEC Special Teams Player of the Week, a two-time Lou Groza Star of the Week, while also earning All-SEC Third Team distinction in 2025.

Smack was a three-time SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll member and was named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll in 2022-23. He was also inducted into the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society in 2026.

Smack was the first kicker drafted in 2026, marking the fourth time in the modern draft era that the Gators have produced the No. 1 kicker in the draft (2021 – Evan McPherson; 2013 – Caleb Sturgis; 2002 – Jeff Chandler).

Tommy Doman (Round 7, Pick 239 – Buffalo Bills)

A spring 2025 transfer, Doman joined the Gators looking to fill the void left by four-year starter Jeremy Crawshaw. Doman quickly assumed primary punting duties for the Gators, finishing the season with 50 punts for 2,202 yards, placing 19 inside the 20-yard line.

His 92.2 punt grade per Pro Football Focus ranked second in the country and earned him a spot on PFF's 2025 All-SEC Team.

Doman served as Michigan's starting punter for the 2023 and 2024 seasons while also assuming holding and place-kicking duties. The Rochester Hills, Mich., native notched 103 punts for 4,475 yards (43.4 avg), pinning opposing offenses inside the 20-yard line 34 times in 31 career games. Doman boasts a career-long punt of 71 yards to go along with 22 punts of 50+ in his career.

Doman amassed 10,608 career kickoff yards on 166 attempts (63.9 average) with 111 falling in the endzone for touchbacks. He was named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the week for his eight-punt, 393-yard performance (five of 50+ yards) in Week 4 against USC. Was named an All-Big Ten selection in 2023 (third team, coaches; honorable mention, media).

Doman graduated in 2024 with a bachelor's in Sport Management from the University of Michigan and with a master's degree in Entrepreneurship in 2025 from the University of Florida. The senior has been tabbed to four All-Conference Academic Honor Rolls (three Big Ten, 2022-24, one SEC, 2025). He was also inducted into the NFF Hampshire Honor Society in 2026.
