The race to the LA28 has officially begun for women's cricket, with the first four National Olympic Committees (NOCs) securing their quotas for the Olympic Games.Australia, Great Britain (through England), India, and South Africa have all obtained spots after finishing as the highest-ranked teams on their respective continents during the ongoing ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026.Five of the six Olympic tournament places are awarded based on teams' performances at ICC events and the ICC Women's T20I rankings, while the final berth will be determined at the inaugural ICC Olympics Qualifier in 2027.The rest of the field now continues its push for a chance to be part of cricket's historic return to the Olympic Games at LA28, where the sport will make its first appearance on the Olympic programme in 128 years.
