Mohammad Amir: Notts Outlaws sign ex-Pakistan seamer for T20 Blast

Notts Outlaws have signed former Pakistan seam bowler Mohammad Amir for the remainder of the T20 Blast.

The 34-year-old left-arm quick returns to English cricket at Trent Bridge after previously featuring for Derbyshire, Gloucestershire and Essex, who he helped to T20 Blast glory in 2019.

In an expansive T20 franchise career that has taken him to leagues across the world, Amir has taken 425 wickets at an average of just 22.63 across 364 matches.

Amir, a T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy winner with Pakistan, also helped the Oval Invincibles win The Hundred title in 2024.

His move to Notts reunites Amir with head coach Peter Moores, who he previously played under at the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League.

"Mo has a great skill set for both the powerplay and the end of the innings, as well as the mental strength to deliver under pressure, which has made him so valuable to teams around the world," Moores told the club website., external

Amir joins a Notts side that are second in the T20 Blast Northern Group after six matches.

As a British passport holder, Notts have managed to bring Amir to the county without having to include him as an overseas player.
