Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Yan Diomande talks, Eduardo Camavinga deal and £60m move backed

After receiving word that Yan Diomande has picked PSG as his next destination, Liverpool appear to have suffered another blow at the hands of the French powerhouse.

That's after another World Cup talent, Maghnes Akliouche, is alleged to have given the green slight to joining Les Parisiens.

TEAMtalk reported PSG are already conducting talks with Monaco to come to an agreement over a deal for the 24-year-old attacking midfielder.

The Reds have been strongly linked with Akliouche for some time but may have to bid farewell to another potential deal as PSG continue to flex their muscles early in the transfer window.

So widespread reports last night have revealed that Yan Diomande, the £100m-rated Liverpool transfer target, sees his future at Paris Saint-Germain if he is to leave RB Leipzig this summer.

Leipzig are reluctant to lose their 19-year-old winger but PSG, the reigning champions of Europe, have the financial clout that might get the Bundesliga club to renege on their stance.

The story that initially appeared on the pages of RMC Sport, in France, wrote that PSG were coiled and ready to act if Diomande communicated his desire to leave for the French capital this summer.

That piece was followed by a report from The Athletic's David Ornstein, who is Stateside for the World Cup, that Diomande has chosen PSG as his next destination.

Yan Diomande has chosen Paris Saint-Germain as his next destination if he leaves RB Leipzig this summer. The Ivory Coast international, 19, believes in the PSG project led by chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi and football advisor Luis Campos, sources speaking anonymously have told The Athletic, and wants to play for head coach Luis Enrique. The winger sees a move to the French capital as giving him the best opportunity to consistently compete for trophies and potentially become a future Ballon D’or winner. Liverpool had previously expressed a willingness to put forward a package approaching €100million (£86.8m; $115m) for him. Leipzig were unwilling to accept that offer and have been holding out for closer to €130m while also trying to tie Diomande to fresh terms. The teenager signed a contract until 2030 when he joined from Spanish side Leganes last summer."

And then back over on the pages of French publication RMC, it was reported that a five-year deal between PSG and Diomande, negotiated through his Roc Nation Sport agency, has now been agreed.

PSG will now open negotiations with Leipzig. The idea is to find common ground for a transfer fee but without going crazy: the new policy of the Parisian management for more than a year remains. The course of action set: to pay the right price. In Germany, the press mentioned a fee of around 130 million euros demanded by the Bundesliga club. PSG does not want to put so much on the table. "

A busy night at the coalface for those covering PSG...but what does this mean for Liverpool?

PSG's Bradley Barcola, Yankuba Minteh of Brighton, Said El Mala, who plays for Koln, and Lille wideman Matias Fernandez-Pardo, who is also wanted by Aston Villa, are under consideration.

It should be stressed though: missing out on their top transfer target this summer is a blow for Liverpool.

There's no sugarcoating it.

Mohamed Salah needs replacing, that forward line needs depth and quality and Diomande looks like he is PSG-bound.

Jurgen Klopp has opened up about his close relationship with Mohamed Salah after falling out in the past.

Like most manager-player dynamics, Klopp and Salah had their share of run-ins during their time working together at Anfield.

However, Klopp revealed in a recent interview with ESPN that the pair have overcome any tensions and are now thick as thieves.

"We are friends now," the German said. "So how I saw it with my players, I always said it, I want to be the friend of my players. I cannot be their best friend.

"While you're working together, players sometimes think I'm not even their friend because I have to make some decisions they don't like. But the good thing is it's all past ... The strongest thing in life is good memories.

"They are stronger than pretty much anything else. And right now we share them and so we are friends and now he's at the World Cup."

Along with Bruno Guimaraes, Liverpool-linked Rayan is also expected to feature once more for Brazil this evening.

The Selecao take on Japan in Houston on Monday evening as the tournament's round of 32 gathers pace.

Bournemouth winger Rayan started in place of the injured Raphinha in Brazil's 3-0 win over Scotland last time out and could keep his place with Barcelona star Raphinha still a doubt.

Andoni Iraola brought Rayan to England in January and has been linked with a reunion. The speedster has a £130million release clause that reportedly activates next January, though the clubs could look to find a resolution outside those terms.

Brazil and Japan kick off at NRG Stadium at 6pm UK time on Monday.

Liverpool could have a deal on their hands this summer amid reports Cologne are nervous about the lack of interest in winger Said El Mala.

The 19-year-old winger had looked set to join Brentford earlier this year before the player rejected the move in lieu of greater interest.

However, Express reported over the weekend that Cologne are now concerned about the lack of genuine suitors. Liverpool and Newcastle have been linked with the speedster in the past and are still said to be interested.

Cologne reportedly want the £40million or so fee they could get for El Mala so they can reinvest in the squad this summer.

It means Liverpool could capitalise on that desperation and get a deal done if they wish to keep adding to their wide options. Teenager El Mala scored 13 goals and recorded five assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances last term.

One newer name on the rumour mill of late, Felix Nmecha is battling to restore his reputation somewhat after a difficult last outing at the World Cup.

Germany face Paraguay at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts on Monday night as they jostle for a spot in the last 16.

Nmecha blazed into the gossip pages this summer after a dazzling first couple of games at the World Cup. However, he looked far from his best as Die Mannschaft fell 2-1 to Ecuador last time out.

It's a sign of how quickly things can switch in the shop window of a World Cup. However, Liverpool won't be the only ones keeping tabs on his performance against Paraguay following rumours Manchester United are also heavily interested in the Borussia Dortmund man.

Newcastle are reportedly attempting to tie captain Bruno Guimaraes down to a new contract amid talk of a summer exit.

The Brazil midfielder, who is currently away on World Cup duty, has been linked with a number of elite clubs, including Liverpool, in recent weeks.

And after Arsenal allegedly had a £55million bid for his services rejected, the Magpies want to tie their skipper down to a new deal.

Newcastle are reportedly willing to make Guimaraes their highest-paid player of all time with a new £200,000-a-week deal.

It's understood the player can leave for £60m after Newcastle failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Perhaps as a direct knock-on effect of PSG's move for Yan Diomande, Liverpool's attention could immediately shift to signing Bradley Barcola.

That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who reminded his viewers of the Reds' interest in the Frenchman during his latest update on the current transfer landscape.

"As I have said many times when discussing Liverpool’s search for a winger, do not forget the name Bradley Barcola," said the transfer insider.

“Barcola was already a player Liverpool admired during the summer of 2025, and he remains on their shortlist for the summer of 2026. My position on that has not changed. Bradley Barcola remains a concrete option for Liverpool.

“Paris Saint-Germain have not yet given the green light for Bradley Barcola to leave this summer. However, in all of my recent updates I have continued to say that there is movement around the player.

“Many sources in France insist that Barcola is not leaving PSG. My information remains different. The situation is still open, and there is still a possibility that Barcola could leave Paris during this transfer window."

Former Tottenham full-back Alan Hutton has encouraged his old club to get serious in their pursuit of Cody Gakpo.

The Scot believes Gakpo would address a real problem area for Roberto De Zerbi's squad after Spurs have already splurged considerably in the Italian's first summer at the helm.

"Gakpo would definitely add quality and address a problem area for Tottenham, especially for the last few seasons when Odobert was out, Kudus was out, Kulusevski was out," Hutton told Betarades. "Decent players for them and they need more in wide areas.

"They need more goals coming from wide areas, they need more supply for the likes of Solanke and Richarlison. I think Gakpo would bring that along with experience and a winning mentality. He's been used to the pressure and he can handle it.

"But not only can he play wide but if you need him to play through the middle, he can do that as well. That is another strength that can always help the team move forward. Getting these types of quality players who've been there, seen it and done it is only going to lift them to the next level and it's something that they need because the last two seasons just haven't been good enough."

In a worrying development for Liverpool fans, PSG are getting serious in their pursuit of Yan Diomande, who wants the move to France.

One of the few clubs linked to the Ivory Coast winger who could boast more pulling power than the Reds, it's emerged the back-to-back Champions League winners are seemingly now in the lead for his signature.

Sky Sports News has reported Diomande's preference to move to the Parc des Princes, where he allegedly has a five-year contract already agreed.

PSG and RB Leipzig are still yet to come to terms, however, and gazumping Les Parisiens with a largely fee in the bidding war could be Liverpool's best gambit of beating them to the punch for arguably the most desirable name on the market this summer.
