KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- Sophomore Isabela de Nadai (Vitoria, Brazil/St. Paul's School) won a hard-fought match at first singles to help the Kutztown University women's tennis team avoid a shutout in a 6-1 PSAC East setback against East Stroudsburg on Tuesday afternoon at the Keystone Courts.Up against a tough opponent in the Warriors (13-4, 2-0 PSAC East), who have become a divisional power over the last two seasons, de Nadai withstood everything her opponent Lea Stefanovic could throw at her. The sophomore from Vitoria, Brazil, took the opening set 7-5 before Stefanovic answered with a 6-4 win in the second to even the match. In the super tiebreaker, de Nadai prevailed by a 10-6 score to win the marathon match that lasted nearly two hours.Unfortunately for Kutztown (4-8, 0-2 PSAC East), ESU proved impossible to crack throughout the rest of its lineup. The Warriors earned a sweep of doubles before quickly putting the match away with four straight 6-0, 6-0 sweeps to open singles play.Kutztown continues its four-match homestand against Edinboro this Friday, April 10, at 3 p.m.Related Headlines04.04.2604.02.2603.24.26
