The West Indies have offered news on Chinelle Henry’s injury ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

“Chinelle Henry experienced an exacerbation of a previous injury and is currently being managed by the team's medical staff. Further updates will be provided as appropriate,” Cricket West Indies shared in a statement.

Henry lost her footing while positioning herself for a catch against Australia and had an awkward landing.

The 30-year-old was stretchered after a brief stoppage in play, leaving the Windies in worry ahead of the marquee tournament.

Henry holds an important place in the West Indies side, and is the vice-captain of the squad, having previously played in five Women’s T20 World Cups.

West Indies begin their T20 World Cup campaign against defending champions New Zealand on Saturday in Southampton.
