Build-up, analysis and insight

The Premier League app and premierleague.com is the place to come not only for all 380 fixtures.

We will be running a live blog from 09:00 BST on Friday so you can follow all the build-up and reaction.

We will identify the biggest matches to look forward to so you can bookmark key dates across the season, as well as pulling out the standout storylines for teams, managers and players on the opening weekend and beyond.

We will also RANK each team's fixtures to determine which club have in theory the easiest and toughest start to the season.

What are the dates for 2026/27?

The Premier League 2026/27 season is due to start on Saturday 22 August 2026. The final match round will be played on Sunday 30 May 2027, when all fixtures will kick off simultaneously as usual.

The Premier League will start one week later this season than in 2025/26. This is because, with an increasingly congested global football calendar, player welfare remains a priority for the Premier League. Starting on 22 August will allow for 89 clear days from the end of the current season and 33 days from the FIFA World Cup 2026 final.

The final day of the season will be a week before the UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday 5 June 2027.

The 2026/27 season will consist of 33 weekends and five midweek match rounds.

Over the Christmas and New Year period, no two match rounds will take place within 60 hours. This is in keeping with commitments made to clubs to address the congested Christmas and New Year schedule within the expanded international calendar.

How is the fixture list compiled?

Ever wondered exactly how the fixtures are decided? Producing the full fixture list is the result of a meticulous and painstaking process that lasts almost half a year and involves the scheduling of 2,036 matches across the top four divisions.

Fantasy Premier League planning starts

The release of the 2026/27 fixtures will also allow Fantasy Premier League managers to start their planning.

The 2026/27 FPL game will be officially launched later this summer, but from Fixture Release Day, The Scout will analyse the 2026/27 fixtures to determine which players to target for the opening Gameweeks.
