The FA releases National League System allocations for Steps 1-6 in 2026-27 season

We can now confirm the National League System (NLS) club allocations for Steps 1-6.

The allocations follow the recent completion of the play-offs in all NLS leagues, culminating in the National League Play-Off Final – during which Rochdale achieved promotion to the EFL. Congratulations to all 132 promoted clubs which includes those promoted from Regional NLS Feeder League level.

Through the allocation process for the 2026-27 season, we have placed 996 clubs across 48 divisions, 19 leagues and six steps of the football pyramid.

These allocations are subject to appeals and any amendments will be confirmed in due course.

We would like to thank everyone involved, from volunteers to clubs and leagues across the NLS, for their hard work during the 2025-26 campaign and wish everyone the best of luck for next season.
