New Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has intensified his early assessment of Ghana’s talent pool, leading his entire technical team to observe a Black Galaxies training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, April 24, 2026.

The Portuguese tactician, who recently took charge following the exit of Otto Addo, was joined by his assistants Desmond Offei and John Paintsil, as well as goalkeepers’ trainer Fatau Dauda.

Also present was Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku, underlining the importance attached to the session.

With around 35 home-based players currently in camp under Black Galaxies coach Kassim Ocansey, the training session offered Queiroz and his backroom staff a first-hand look at the domestic talents pushing for national team recognition.

The visit forms part of Queiroz’s broader plan to integrate standout performers from the Ghana Premier League into the Black Stars setup, as he begins preparations toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Players such as Benjamin Asare and Salim Adams were among those eager to impress, fully aware that opportunities under the new regime could come quickly.

With a friendly against Mexico on the horizon, the technical team’s close monitoring of the Black Galaxies could prove decisive in shaping the next generation of Black Stars players.
