Fast bowler Harshit Rana is set to make his return from injury after he was added to India's squad for the third and final ODI against Afghanistan on Saturday.

Harshit hasn't featured at any level since he hurt his knee just prior to the ICC Men's T20 World Cup at the start of the year, but India have confirmed the 24-year-old has made a full recovery and is ready to return.

"The Men's Selection Committee has added Mr Harshit Rana to the India squad for the third and final IDFC First Bank ODI against Afghanistan," India said via a statement.

"Mr Rana, who has completed his rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE), has linked up with the ODI squad in Chennai."

India have already wrapped up the three-game series following victories in Dharamsala and Lucknow ahead of the Chennai clash and will be aiming to complete a series whitewash over their fellow Asian side ahead of next year's ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.
