Manchester United news as Michael Carrick's plans for next season start to take shapeManchester United have embarked upon a pivotal summer as they seek to capitalise on the momentum generated under Michael Carrick during the second half of last season.Having been given the role on a permanent basis, Carrick is eager to reshape the squad in his own image. With Champions League football secured, he is expected to receive substantial financial backing in the transfer market. The midfield is a clear priority following Casemiro's exit and the side's shortcomings in that area over recent campaigns. Ederson is already en route from Atalanta, while United have been linked with numerous other central midfielders.Other areas of the team will be reinforced, while there could be several notable exits. United agreed a deal for the Fortaleza CEIF prospect last September but must wait until July 13, when he turns 18, to register him.The official club confirmation of his capture will follow shortly afterwards. The Colombian will arrive in Manchester ahead of that date to commence his integration process, which encompasses English language tuition.Given his age, Orozco, whose playing style has drawn comparisons to Chelsea's Moises Caicedo, is viewed as a prospect for the future and will first join United's under-21 ranks. That said, some senior involvement next season cannot be ruled out. With United competing in the Champions League, Carrick might heavily rotate his squad in the Carabao Cup and hand some youngsters an opportunity.Wild Fernandes claimReports coming out of Turkey suggest Galatasaray are preparing a far-fetched bid for Bruno Fernandes. TRT Sport say the Istanbul club are holding off until Portugal's World Cup participation concludes before declaring their interest in the United skipper. However, it is highly unlikely that Fernandes will represent any other club next season, given the progress achieved under Carrick and he is understood to be relishing the prospect of captaining the side in the Champions League.Galatasaray have missed any chance they may have had by a year, considering Fernandes came close to departing United for the Saudi Pro League last summer.
