It is semifinal day at WTA Singapore, as after a week of intense competition, only four players remain in the quest for the title. We have two exciting matches in store, with the field wide open for any player to step up and win a WTA Tour title this week. As always, we here at LWOT will be predicting every match for you. But who do you think will make the final in Singapore this year?WTA Singapore Semifinal PredictionsTatiana Prozorova vs Talia GibsonHead-to-head: First meetingWTA Singapore has been the tournament of her life so far, as Tatiana Prozorova, ranked well outside the top 100 in the world, now finds herself in the semifinals after some career-best victories. The Russian player has implemented her aggressive baseline style well so far, dictating play when needed to come through her matches. Now, she takes on Talia Gibson, another heavy-hitting player who likes to take the initiative from the back of the court. This match will very well come down to which player can be the aggressor more consistently, and in that department, the Aussie should have the clear edge.Prediction: Gibson in 2Leylah Fernandez vs Maja ChwalinskaHead-to-head: First meetingThis WTA Singapore match pits the counterpunching skills of Leylah Fernandez against the all-court scrambling and ball-spin variety of Maja Chwalinska. Since reaching the French Open final earlier this year, the Pole has failed to string together a consistent week of tennis as she has here, showing once again how her game can disrupt her opponent’s rhythm. While Fernandez, on the back of her season-best quarterfinal performance, is the player more suited to this surface and can implement her baseline game, I expect a back-and-forth match, with both players having their moments. Ultimately, the Canadian should be the one more comfortable on this surface. If she remains composed and does not get frustrated by the unique defensive skills of Chwalinska, she should reach the final here.Prediction: Fernandez in 3Main Photo Credit: Reuters
