Alex Eala is still in the very early stages of her professional tennis career.

Eala is only 21 years old, but has already won a WTA 500 title, reached the second week of Wimbledon and is currently one of the most popular players in tennis right now.

The Filipina is hoping to end her season in style at the Singapore Open, where Eala is the third seed.

Eala is popular everywhere she plays, but her return to Asia has showcased just how much of a big draw she is at these WTA tournaments, as she responded to questions from tennis fans in Singapore.

Alex Eala reveals how she wants to be remembered

Eala fielded questions in front of a significant number of fans ahead of her first match at the Singapore Open this year.

One of these questions asked Eala how she would want to be remembered after she retires from professional tennis.

Eala appeared to be initially taken aback by the depth of the question, before she spoke about the three attributes she wants to be known for, rather than speaking about personal tennis achievements.

“I want to be remembered for trying to be positive and being ferocious on court and as a hard worker,” said Eala, as shown in a video by Tennis Asia TV.

Eala is already one of the most entertaining players to watch on the WTA Tour, and she likely still has many years ahead of her to continue showcasing these attributes while challenging for the biggest titles in the sport.

This was not the only question Eala was asked, as she was also questioned about her friendships within tennis. Not only is Eala one of the most popular tennis players among fans, but she also appears to get along with many of her fellow WTA players.

Eala was asked if she had any unexpected friendships, and while she suggested her friendship with world number 56 Zeynep Sonmez was not unexpected, she was full of kind words for the Turkish WTA player.

“I am super close with Zeynep, who is a Turkish player,” answered Eala. “She is just so amazing. She’s so inspirational and the way she carries herself, I feel like our values align so much and I look up to her in a way where I trust her judgement so much and I’m able to confide in her as a friend.

“Yeah, I think she’s just a great role model and a great person for me to take inspiration from.”

Eala has been without Sonmez in Singapore, where she will face qualifier Tatiana Prozorova in her opening match.
