Arsenal will not stand still after their Premier League title success, with a number of names linked to a potential transfer in the summer window

Mikel Arteta is reportedly set to be handed the keys to an Arsenal war-chest following their Premier League title triumph. The Gunners ended their 22-year wait to return to the pinnacle of English football and they did so on Tuesday after nearest challengers Manchester City slipped up at Bournemouth.

While the North London club are preparing to extend the Spaniards contract, making him one of the best-paid managers in world football, the newly-crowned champions don't appear to be resting on their laurels. The Guardian has reported that Arteta will be heavily involved in the next stage of this Premier League-winning Arsenal side, alongside sporting director Andrea Berta.

The clubs' co-chairs Stan and Josh Kroenke wrote in the programme for the win over Burnley that they will not stand still at the end of the season. The report adds that it is unlikely that there will be another £250million splurge as last summer, but Eli Junior Kroupi is among the targets.

The Bournemouth scored the effort that put the pin in the City title-winning balloon on Tuesday. The Cherries, who are in a good position to qualify for the Champions League, could value the 19-year-old in the region of £80million.

But they won't have a clear run at the forward with Real Madrid and Chelsea said to be monitoring movement in the transfer window. From an Arsenal perspective, he is viewed as an option to compete with Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres for a central role.

Julian Alvarez, who featured prominently in the Atletico Madrid team that was dumped out of the Champions League semi-finals by Arsenal, is said to be a player of particular interest to Arteta.

The former Manchester City forward is said to feature on the shortlist with the Arsenal head coach making a new forward a priority. The only current stumbling block is the price-tag and how much Atletico will demand, while Paris Saint-Germain star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been described as a dream signing but the Parisiens will not be entertaining any offers.

Sandro Tonali, Bradley Barcola, Nico Williams and Anthony Gordon have been mentioned as targets, while Gabriel Martinelli would be allowed to leave if a suitable offer arrived.

Departures could follow despite the highs of winning the Premier League. Ethan Nwaneri's future looks unclear following his loan at Marseille with Borussia Dortmund said to be interested.

Christian Norgaard and Gabriel Jesus are said to be on the verge of being made surplus to requirements, which may generate some funds.

Speaking with media for the first time since being crowned champions, Arteta said: "It’s incredible to hear them, especially understanding the journey, the manner that we’ve done it and how many people have been involved and waiting for so long to accomplish that goal.

"It changes because the level of emotion that you feel is something probably that I haven't felt before, and as a manager and as a player, it's different. It's really incredible. The last 48 hours have been so much fun and enjoyment, and great to live it."
