United have reportedly contacted Julian Alvarez’s representatives as they explore an audacious potential summer move for the Arsenal target. According to Spanish publication AS, the Reds have spoken directly to Alvarez's agent.

And the report adds that Atletico could be tempted by the move as they have interest in several of Man Utd's players, suggesting that a part-exchange deal could be in the offing.

Leeds United have had a £20m proposal turned down for Southampton star Shea Charles. The 22-year-old has previously been linked with the Red Devils but rivals Leeds have submitted an early approach for the midfielder.

The Athletic reports that the bid fell short of Southampton's asking price but discussions between the two sides continue. Meanwhile, Carrick's team are yet to table an offer for the Northern Ireland international.

United are reportedly prepared to accept a financial hit on Manuel Ugarte as they seek to move him on. The Uruguayan midfielder has failed to justify his £42.3million transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024, with United unlikely to recoup their investment, highlighting the player's precarious position.

It's reported that the club's bosses are willing to accept a financial hit on Ugarte this summer. It is suggested that his departure would encourage Carrick's team to pursue a third midfielder, following Ederson's arrival and the club's chase for West Ham's Mateus Fernandes.

INEOS, which handles football matters at United, would require Ugarte to be sold for £25.38m for United to prevent a loss under profitability and sustainability regulations after the midfielder penned a deal until 2029. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old's salary could present a stumbling block for prospective buyers and keep him at Old Trafford this summer.

Teddy Sheringham has told his former club Manchester United not to sign Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United. The midfielder has been strongly linked to an Old Trafford switch with it claimed personal terms have been agreed between the two parties.

Tottenham are also in the race for his signature and will be hoping United take Sheringham's advice with the former England striker urging United to pull out of the race having not been impressed by his displays at London Stadium.

He told ComeOn:"I wasn’t so impressed with Mateus Fernandes at West Ham last season. A lot of West Ham fans think he’ll go on to bigger and better things but the jury’s still out for me on Fernandes.

United could reportedly be set to rival Liverpool and Real Madrid for the signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha this summer.

Sky Sport Germany claim that United are ‘intensifying’ their efforts to land Nmecha, and head of scouting Christopher Vivell is in close contact with the player’s agents.

However, there is still no guarantee that the 25-year-old will leave Dortmund this summer. He only signed a new long-term deal in March this year, without a release clause until June 2027.

United may face an unexpected obstacle in their attempts to sign West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes. The Portugal international is reportedly valued at £80 million by the Hammers.

The Sun reports that Tottenham are "prepared to offer more" than United in terms of wages. Roberto De Zerbi's side finished 17th last season but are claimed to be willing to pay higher salaries for their top targets.

Unlike Spurs, United can offer Fernandes the opportunity to compete in the Champions League next season. However, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham's readiness to pay higher wages will be a blow to United's transfer strategy.

Andre Onana has reportedly agreed another season-long loan at Turkish side Trabzonspor.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed a verbal agreement has been reached with Trabzonspor who are set to pay United a loan fee.

Another loan move will get a sizeable chunk of his salary off the wage bill and open up the chance to sell him next summer.

It follows a difficult time at Old Trafford after he joined the Reds for £47m from Inter Milan in 2023.
