While relegation rivals West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Burnley continue to rack up defeats, Leeds are becoming immune to them, extending their unbeaten run to seven with Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United – a result which brought an end to Ruben Amorim’s reign at Old Trafford.

Increasing that sensational run to eight looks a big ask given Newcastle have won nine and lost none of their 11 home games since September but, given their current form, it is hard to entirely rule it out.

Bar a 5-0 hammering at Arsenal in the second week of the season, Leeds have continually raised their game against the big boys on their Premier League return.

The Whites beat Chelsea 3-1 and FA Cup holders Crystal Palace 4-1 last month and have also twice drawn with Liverpool during their unbeaten run.

Bookmakers appear to have been far too harsh on Leeds and their luck is not due to run out just yet. That said, while they are a tempting price, Newcastle’s injury crisis is easing and the draw looks a likely outcome.
