Transfer news LIVE!

The summer transfer window is ramping up as Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool all work hard to secure some statement signings. Arsenal may have found their Bruno Guimaraes alternative in Morten Hjulmand, while they could move for a new striker in Christian Kofane as they also work on huge deals for Morgan Rogers and Bradley Barcola. Leandro Trossard’s exit from the Gunners is imminent, after a fee was agreed with Turkish giants Besiktas.

Manchester United have made contact over a shock swoop for Andrey Santos, who Chelsea could sell for the right price. United are still on track to sign Ederson despite claims in Brazil that the transfer has now collapsed, while they are also looking at the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni, Alex Scott, Felix Nmecha and Ayyoub Bouaddi. Chelsea are pushing for both Maxence Lacroix and Pep Chavarria, though have called off their pursuit of Granit Xhaka and agreed for Tyrique George to join Everton permanently.

Latest transfer news and rumours

Tottenham to confirm Tonali amid Rafael Leao update

The exciting times continue for Tottenham, who broke their transfer record last week as beating Manchester United to the £85m signing of Mateus Fernandes from West Ham carried on their aggressive early summer recruitment drive.

If that wasn’t quite good enough for Spurs fans, it was quickly followed by a £100m agreement being reached with Newcastle for the services of the in-demand Sandro Tonali.

That deal is expected to be officially announced today.

Fabrizio Romano also reports this morning that AC Milan and Portugal forward Rafael Leao, who has been linked with Spurs in recent days, is expected to leave the San Siro this summer and will assess his option after the World Cup amid interest from Europe and Saudi Arabia.

Portugal play neighbours Spain in a huge last-16 tie in Dallas this evening.

Arsenal get boost over Bruno Guimaraes alternative

Arsenal may just have found a suitable alternative to Bruno Guimaraes.

The Gunners have targeted Newcastle’s influential captain as a key transfer target this summer along with Morgan Rogers, though have seen initial approaches firmly rebuffed by their Premier League rivals.

Arsenal may have to look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements, with Morten Hjulmand one potential option.

The Daily Mirror report that they may soon have the chance to sign Sporting’s Danish captain, who is said to have rejected a switch to Atletico Madrid.

Hjulmand would reunite with former Sporting team-mate Viktor Gyokeres at the Emirates Stadium.

Like Kofane, Hjulmand also played against Arsenal in the Champions League last season.

Man Utd launch shock move for Chelsea's Andrey Santos

Manchester United are embarking on a shock move for Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos.

The Red Devils are looking to reshape their midfield options under Michael Carrick this summer, with Ederson still set to arrive from Atalanta after the departure of Brazil team-mate Casemiro - though Manuel Ugarte will spend months on the sidelines with a serious knee injury suffered at the World Cup.

Standard Sport understands that United have made initial contact with Santos’ camp, with Chelsea said to value the 22-year-old at around £50m.

Fabrizio Romano says that the Blues do not consider Santos untouchable and could be willing to sell for the right price.

Arsenal eye deal for striker Christian Kofane

Arsenal could move to sign Christian Kofane this summer.

The Gunners are said to hold a long-standing interest in the teenage forward, who has impressed in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen.

However, Newcastle are also believed to be in for Kofane after completing the £43m signing of Bazoumana Toure from Hoffenheim.

But TEAMtalk suggest that the door could be left open for Arsenal to swoop for the 19-year-old, who may not look favourably upon the Magpies with no Champions League football on offer at St James’ Park next season.

Kofane played for Leverkusen against Arsenal in the competition last term.

Andrey Santos to Man Utd transfer latest

More details now on Manchester United’s interest in Andrey Santos.

It was reported earlier today by The Guardian that the Red Devils were targeting a summer move for Chelsea’s Brazilian midfielder, who is said to be valued at around the £50m mark.

Fabrizio Romano has now weighed in on the topic, insisting that United made an enquiry regarding Santos.

However, he says that there have been no club-to-club talks so far, with discussions only held with the player’s camp.

Romano adds that Chelsea do not consider Santos as untouchable and could sell for the right price.

Man Utd eye shock Chelsea raid for Andrey Santos

Manchester United are believed to be eyeing a deal for Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos.

The Red Devils are looking to continue reshaping their midfield this summer after agreeing a deal for Ederson and waving goodbye to Casemiro, while Manuel Ugarte faces months on the sidelines with a serious knee injury suffered at the World Cup.

They have been linked with a whole host of players having missed out on both Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes, including the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni, Alex Scott, Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Felix Nmecha and Sander Berge.

They have looked at Santos before, with The Guardian now reporting that they are once again targeting a player who is said to be open to leaving Stamford Bridge in this window.

The Brazilian is reported to be valued by Chelsea at £50m.

Brentford agree £20m Jaidon Anthony deal

Jaidon Anthony to Brentford is on.

The Bees have been trying to sign the former Bournemouth winger following Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League last season.

Fabrizio Romano says that Brentford have now agreed a deal for Anthony that includes a £17m fixed fee, plus a further £3m in add-ons.

The winger is expected to sign a five-year contract in west London in the coming days.

Jurgen Klopp accepts offer to manage Germany

Jurgen Klopp will soon be back in management.

The Liverpool legend has been in talks over taking over the Germany national team after former head coach Julian Nagelsmann quit in the wake of Monday’s World Cup last-32 penalty shootout upset by Paraguay.

Fabrizio Romano says that while there are still key topics under discussion including his contract details and exit as Red Bull’s head of global football, Klopp has accepted the offer from the DFB.

Interestingly, Romano adds that ex-Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner was considered as Klopp’s replacement at Red Bull, but the Austrian has agreed to join Nottingham Forest in a shock twist after the departure of Vitor Pereira.

Chelsea plot new Pep Chavarria bid

Chelsea are still pushing to sign Pep Chavarria.

The Blues emerged as surprise contenders for the Rayo Vallecano left-back last week, having agreed to sell Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid after the World Cup in a transfer worth £51.7m.

Chelsea have set their sights on Chavarria to help fill the void after an impressive season in which he helped the LaLiga club to reach the Conference League final, where they lost to Crystal Palace in Leipzig.

A deal has yet to be done, but Fabrizio Romano reports this morning that a new round of club-to-club talks have been scheduled after an initial bid was rebuffed.

Chavarria is believed to want to join Chelsea.

Liverpool enter race for Sergio Arribas

Liverpool have emerged as shock potential suitors for Sergio Arribas.

The highly-rated Spanish attacking midfielder currently plies his club trade in the Segunda Division with Almeria, though is widely expected to step up a level this summer.

Benfica were said to be negotiating a €20m deal for the 24-year-old, with half the fee reportedly owed to former club Real Madrid.

However, Spanish regional outlet Ideal de Almeria claims that Liverpool have now entered the race for Arribas after already signing compatriot Victor Munoz from Osasuna in a £34.5m transfer last month.
