Cardiff City boss Brian Barry-Murphy has hinted he could stick with a similar squad for the final game of the season as his side look to finish on a high away at Mansfield Town.

The Bluebirds have already secured promotion back to the Championship, but Barry-Murphy insists there will be no let-up in standards heading into the final fixture.

Last week there were notable omissions for the likes of Calum Scanlon and soon-to-be-out-of-contract Ryan Wintle, while 16-year-old Rob Tankiewicz came on for his Championship debut off the bench.

“It’s the same squad as last week pretty much for us,” he said. “We’ll see in training who the best players are for the game.

“It’s no messing about from us, we will be doing our best to try and win the game. Once we train, we train really seriously. We prepare for the game in the manner that supporters would expect.

“We will be trying our best to produce a performance capable of winning the game.”

“It’s a genuine chance to try one more time to give the fans an exceptional day and reward the incredible support we’ve had throughout the season,” he added.

“They’ve travelled so much at so much expense and we now have one more day with them this season before we break.”

Looking ahead to the opposition, he added: “They are a team with an exceptional manager, they showed that throughout the season and in the cup competitions. It’s a challenge we are ready for.”

Erol Bulut 'lined up' for Championship return

Former Cardiff boss Erol Bulut is reportedly in the frame for a swift return to the Championship.

According to Football Insider, Watford are considering the Turkish coach as a leading contender to take over at Vicarage Road, with current boss Ed Still expected to depart at the end of the season after a difficult spell in charge.

Bulut, who guided Cardiff to a mid-table finish in his first campaign before leaving early the following season, is currently out of work after his departure from Antalyaspor in December.

His previous experience in the second tier, along with a strong reputation in Turkey, has placed him firmly on Watford’s radar as they prepare for yet another managerial change.

Marti Cifuentes and Russell Martin have also been mentioned in dispatches.

Robinson says 'it’s been a pleasure' in message to fans

Callum Robinson has issued an emotional message to supporters after Cardiff sealed promotion in style.

The forward, who was on target in the 5-1 win over Northampton Town, took to social media to reflect on the achievement and his time at the club.

“What a day Saturday was,” he wrote. “I feel so blessed to be a part of this group of lads every day. It’s been a pleasure.
