Big Coup For Tipperary As Key Figure From Dublin’s Five-In-A-Row Setup Joins

Tipperary have added a member of Jim Gavin’s five-in-a-row Dublin backroom team to their senior hurling setup, with Anne-Marie Kennedy joining Liam Cahill’s management and support team for 2027.

The high performance psychologist will work as the team’s performance coach, bringing experience from Dublin’s historic run of five consecutive All-Ireland football titles.

Kennedy’s appointment was confirmed in Tipperary GAA’s announcement of Liam Cahill’s 2027 backroom team, which lists her role as sports performance.

Her GAA experience also includes working with the Clare hurlers and Galway footballers.

Beyond Gaelic games, Kennedy has provided support to Golf Ireland, Cricket Ireland, Swim Ireland, Cycling Ireland and Horse Sport Ireland, giving her a background across both team and individual sports, she also runs her own business, Kennedy Performance.

Her arrival is one of several changes as Cahill prepares for his fifth season in charge of the Premier County.

Seán O’Meara of Shannon Rovers and Brian O’Meara of Mullinahone join as selectors, while Paul O’Brien of Dublin club Crumlin takes on a combined selector and coaching support role.

Aidan Stakelum will provide coaching support, John Murphy takes responsibility for strength and conditioning, and outgoing Longford manager Diarmuid Cahill joins as goalkeeping coach.

The county board also thanked departing selectors Declan Laffan and TJ Ryan, along with strength and conditioning coach Angelo Walsh, for their contributions to Tipperary’s 2025 All-Ireland success.

The appointments follow Cahill’s reappointment in July for a further three-year term, keeping him in charge until the end of the 2029 season.

Having led Tipperary to the 2025 All-Ireland title, Liam Cahill received the county board’s backing after a disappointing title defence ended at the Munster round-robin stage. Developing the next generation of players was identified as a priority for his new term.

Anne-Marie Kennedy now joins that effort with experience of the environment in which Dublin sustained their record-breaking run under Gavin.
