Another injury setback has ruled out Hardik Pandya from the upcoming A series against Australia in Puducherry. Hardik was set to feature in the One-Dayers from October 6 but a fresh shin injury puts him back on the sidelines. He is also doubtful to recover in time for the five T20Is in New Zealand, starting on October 22.Hardik has endured a tough time away from the sport, with recurring injuries hitting him while being in the midst of rehabilitation. In June this year, he was expected to feature in the ODIs against Afghanistan but during his time at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru, a quadriceps strain laid him low.His selection for the A series against Australia too was subject to fitness clearance. But less than two weeks from the first one-dayer, Hardik’s progress towards game time has been agonisingly derailed once again.Hardik’s last T20I appearance was in the World Cup final in Ahmedabad in March. His last ODI dates back to March 2025, in the Champions Trophy final. He featured in 10 of the 14 matches in this year's IPL but hasn’t played competitive cricket since.
