Gabon: his arrears unpaid for 6 months, Mouyouma serves notice to FEGAFOOT

While Thierry Mouyouma and Dieudonné Londo (former General Manager of Gabon) are still owed their unpaid salaries, FEGAFOOT has appointed a new coach (Sébastien Migné) and a new technical director (Alain Giresse). This situation is considered incomprehensible.

Thierry Mouyouma puts FEGAFOOT on notice

Thierry Mouyouma did not want things to escalate this far. Six months after the termination of his contract, which was set to run until December 2027, the technician remains unpaid. He contacted the Ministry of Youth and Sports several times for an amicable settlement. Faced with the deafening silence of the Gabonese authorities, the former head of the Panthers’ technical staff has instructed his lawyers.

Thierry Mouyouma and Dieudonné Londo have sent an official notice to FEGAFOOT through the law firm Loizos Hadjidemetriou, which specializes in sports litigation at FIFA and CAS. They are planning to report the case to FIFA very soon. This could end up costing the Gabonese authorities even more.

Pierre Alain Mounguengui voices his support for Mouyouma

Pierre Alain Mounguengui never wanted Thierry Mouyouma to be dismissed. The current president of the Federation was ready to keep the coach on even after Gabon's failed CAN 2025 in Morocco: “If it were only up to me, the coach of Gabon would still be Thierry Mouyouma. He’s one of the best coaches on the African continent. It’s a shame we parted ways.” he said.

On July 15th, in front of the press, the Gabonese official openly expressed his lack of understanding regarding Mouyouma's still outstanding back pay. Although he is aware of the situation, he remains powerless. Because the authority to pay depends on the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

“I am aware that up to this day, Thierry Mouyouma has not yet been paid. This is an uncomfortable situation. We have, however, paid Camacho, Neveu... Why is it that when it's a Gabonese, it drags on?” he questioned.
