Steve Waugh to Rahul Dravid: All owners of European T20 Premier League listed

A fresh chapter in franchise cricket is set to unfold as the European T20 Premier League, officially recognised by the International Cricket Council, prepares for its debut season.

The league has been co-founded by Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan alongside Saurav Banerjee, Priyanka Kaul and Dhiraj Malhotra, the former CEO of Delhi Capitals in the IPL.

Europe's first major franchise T20 competition, featuring six teams, will run from August 26 to September 20, 2026, spread across two venues -- Voorburg Cricket Club in the Netherlands and Malahide Cricket Club in Ireland.

The Amsterdam Flames are backed by a consortium featuring Australia's World Cup-winning captain Steve Waugh, hockey icon Jamie Dwyer, and Tim Thomas, founder of Australia Essence.

Current Australian T20 captain Mitchell Marsh will lead the side, which also includes Steve Smith and power-hitter Tim David.

The Belfast Wolves falls under the ownership of the Floodlight Capital Consortium, with Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell joining as co-owner.

Edinburgh's franchise, the Castle Rockers, is owned by a New Zealand-based consortium that includes former Black Caps players Kyle Mills and Nathan McCullum.

The playing squad will be captained by Mitchell Santner, with fellow Kiwi great Trent Boult and England's Liam Livingstone also part of the lineup.

Dublin's franchise, The Guardians, is owned by an Indian consortium fronted by Rahul Dravid. Former spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has joined the team as a captain and as a mentor.

The Rotterdam Dockers bring together South African stars Faf du Plessis, Heinrich Klaasen and Jonty Rhodes, alongside Bollywood actor John Abraham, as co-owners. Du Plessis will also captain the side during its debut season.

Rounding out the list, the Glasgow Cosmic represent Scotland, co-owned by Matthew Hayden and Tansha Batra, with backing from the Mugafi Group as founding partner.
