IPL 2026: Will Pat Cummins play tonight in SRH vs DC match?

NEW DELHI: Sunrisers Hyderabad are set to take on Delhi Capitals in Match 31 of IPL 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Both teams are evenly matched so far, each sitting with six points, which makes this clash quite important as the league stage moves ahead.

SRH are currently being led by Ishan Kishan in place of their regular captain Pat Cummins. They’ve had a mixed run with three wins and three losses, but their recent performances at home have been strong, including wins over Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have also managed three wins in five matches in this IPL 2026 but have struggled with consistency, which keeps things evenly balanced.

Pat Cummins has not played this season so far due to a lower back (lumbar) stress injury. He did make a brief return during the Ashes 2025–26, playing one Test, but his injury worsened afterward. Because of this, he also missed the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

He joined the SRH camp earlier in March and began rehabilitation in Bengaluru with the team’s medical staff.

Later, he went back to Australia for further scans under Cricket Australia before rejoining the squad on April 17.
