Arsenal 'ready to accelerate Morgan Rogers transfer pursuit' and using England stars to help convince him to join

ARSENAL are ready to ramp up their pursuit of Morgan Rogers – with England stars Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze all helping to sell the dream.

The Gunners have identified the Aston Villa ace as one of their top attacking targets this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen a squad aiming to defend the Premier League title and challenge again in Europe.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are preparing to step up their interest in Rogers, with members of the England squad already sounding him out about a potential move to the Emirates.

Rice is understood to be leading the charm offensive, while Saka and Eze are also part of the Three Lions set-up currently spending time alongside Rogers at the World Cup in America.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a sensational campaign under Unai Emery last season, scoring 14 goals and registering 12 assists in all competitions.

Rogers was one of Villa’s standout performers as they finished fourth in the Premier League and lifted the Europa League, establishing himself as one of the most exciting young attacking players in English football.

While he has been second choice behind Jude Bellingham for England in the No10 position so far this summer, Rogers still featured off the bench during the 4-2 victory over Croatia and is expected to play an important role for Thomas Tuchel during the tournament.

Arsenal see his versatility as a major attraction.

Rogers can operate across the front line, as a No10 or from the left wing – an area that could require fresh options if either Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli move on this summer.

Villa have publicly maintained that Rogers is not for sale and remain in a strong position given his long-term contract.

However, clubs monitoring the situation believe discussions could potentially begin around the £85million mark if Villa are forced to balance the books.

That valuation is also complicated by Middlesbrough holding a 20 per cent sell-on clause from Rogers’ move to Villa Park.

Arsenal are expected to make four or five major additions this summer and have been linked with several high-profile names.

The Gunners continue to admire Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, while Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis and Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott have also been discussed internally.

But Rogers is rapidly emerging as one of Arteta’s priority targets as Arsenal look to add more firepower to a squad determined to stay ahead of the chasing pack next season.
