Jurgen Klopp Gives Honest Take On Becoming Germany's Next Coach After Painful World Cup Elimination

Germany lost 4-3 to Paraguay on penalties and is out of the 2026 World Cup after being eliminated in the Round of 32.

The loss was a shock to many fans as many expected the Germans to reach the Round of 16 over a Paraguayan team that finished third in their respective group.

Germany's loss has caused lots of outrage from German fans, including demands to sack the Germany head coach, Julian Nagelsmann. Nagelsmann has insisted on staying put as the head coach following the elimination, but many German fans are naming options to replace him.

One of those options is the legendary manager Jurgen Klopp, who has never coached the German national team. Klopp has been successful at Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool.

Klopp was present at the Boston Stadium and witnessed Germany getting knocked out of the tournament at the hands of Paraguay.

Jurgen Klopp on the Germany Manager Job

Following Germany's exit from the 2026 World Cup, Jurgen Klopp was asked about fans demanding the German football federation hire him to replace Julian Nagelsmann.

Klopp has not coached since 2024, when he was the manager of Liverpool in the Premier League. When talking about potentially taking the Germany job, Klopp insisted that it had not crossed his mind to take it.

Klopp said, "I haven't thought about that yet. I understand that my name is being mentioned now. But it's not the time to talk about that."
