West Indies Women defeated Zimbabwe by 99 runs in the first ODI. Batting first in the match at Harare Sports Club, West Indies scored 299 for six in 50 overs. In reply, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 200 in 43.3 overs. Hayley Matthews was named Player of the Match. She scored 182 runs off 156 balls.

Matthews batted at a strike rate of 116.67

West Indies captain Hayley Matthews held the innings together from the start and scored 182 runs at a strike rate of 116.67. She also became the highest scorer in a West Indies innings. She broke Stephanie Taylor's record of 171 runs against Sri Lanka.

Her innings included 26 fours and two sixes. She added 128 runs for the first wicket with Raleana Grimon. Grimon scored 53 off 70 balls.

Matthews then put together useful partnerships with Stafanie Taylor, Shemaine Campbelle and Chinelle Henry. Campbelle scored 13 off 28 balls, while Henry made 19 off 26 balls. Matthews was dismissed in the 49.1st over with the score at 294. Jemily Glasgow and Alia Eileen then took the team to 299.

Zimbabwe's Franciska Chipare took two wickets for 57 runs. Beloved Biza and Nyasha Gwanzura took one wicket each.

Mupachikwa held the innings together single-handedly

Zimbabwe did not make a good start while chasing 300 runs. Sharn Meyers was dismissed for 21 in the sixth over. Kelis Ndhlovu then returned to the pavilion after scoring 15.

Wickets continued to fall, but wicketkeeper-batter Modester Mupachikwa held firm at one end. She scored 86 off 106 balls, hitting 7 fours and one six. Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano supported her with 26 off 37 balls. The pair put on 49 runs for the third wicket.

Mupachikwa was dismissed as the final wicket in the 43.3rd over. Her dismissal brought Zimbabwe's innings to an end at 200 runs.

Mapuchikwa scored 86 runs.

Alleyne took 3 wickets, while Munisar and Glasgow took 2 each

For the West Indies, Aaliyah Alleyne took 3 wickets for 44 runs in 6.3 overs. Jenilly Glasgow took 2 wickets for 37 runs, while Ashmini Munisar took 2 for 27. Afy Fletcher also took 2 wickets.

Aaliyah Alleyne took three wickets.
