Blow for Limerick as Gillane to miss Cork clash

Limerick hurling management have confirmed that Aaron Gillane will miss the county's opening Munster SHC round-robin clash with Cork on Sunday after picking up a calf injury.

The five-time All-Ireland winner picked up the injury in training on Tuesday, ruling him out of the SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh fixture, as well as the Treaty's home date with Clare on 3 May.

Limerick, who defeated Cork in the Division 1 final on Easter Sunday, are looking to win back the Munster crown after losing on penalties to the Rebels in last year's final.

After seeing off Tipperary in the opening round, Ben O'Connor has gone with an unchanged XV for Sunday's Leeside encounter, which throws in at 2pm.
