Young players who impress on the international stage often see their value rise quickly. When a teenager performs at a World Cup, interest from top clubs can intensify and valuations can increase significantly.

Lille chairman Olivier Letang has warned Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich that Ayyoub Bouaddi will cost an enormous amount of money. The 18-year-old midfielder has been one of Morocco’s standout performers at the World Cup.

Bouaddi has started four of Morocco’s matches so far, including their knockout victories over the Netherlands and Canada. His performances have further enhanced his reputation after already making nearly 100 senior appearances for Lille despite his young age.

Letang has compared Bouaddi’s potential value to recent high-profile transfers. He pointed to Manchester City paying £116 million for Elliot Anderson and Tottenham spending £100 million on Sandro Tonali, suggesting Bouaddi should be valued in a similar bracket despite being much younger.

The Lille chairman has been clear that only a handful of clubs can afford the teenager. He described Ayyoub Bouaddi as “one of the best midfielders in the world” with significant room for improvement, emphasising that any deal would require an enormous bid.

Interest in Bouaddi has been growing for some time. The midfielder’s combination of technical quality, physical presence and maturity has made him one of the most sought-after young talents in European football.

For Arsenal, Ayyoub Bouaddi would represent a high-potential addition to their midfield. His performances at the World Cup have shown he can perform at the highest level, while his experience in Ligue 1 has helped him develop quickly.

Lille are determined to protect one of their most valuable assets. Letang has made it clear that the club will not sell unless they receive an offer that reflects Bouaddi’s unique profile and long-term potential.

The coming weeks will determine whether any of the interested clubs are willing to meet Lille’s valuation. Bouaddi’s continued development and Morocco’s progress at the World Cup will only increase his profile further.
