Alexandra Eala's fairytale week in Berlin is over.

The Filipina tennis star wildcard's breakthrough run at the Berlin Open 2026 ended in the semi-finals on Saturday (20 June), as Czech Linda Noskova closed their semi-final encouter out 6-2, 6-4 to book her place in Sunday's final at the Steffi Graf Stadion.

Noskova needed just 69 minutes.

The Czech struck first and never loosened her grip. She broke Eala in the opening game of the match, broke again to take the first set 6-2, and leaned on a serve that produced eight aces across the afternoon.

The second set stayed level until the closing stretch. With the set on serve at 4-4, Noskova broke through for a 5-4 lead, then served it out to seal the win.

Eala, the 21-year-old who had stunned world No. 2 Elena Rybakina in the Round of 16 and beaten former world No. 3 Elina Svitolina in the quarter-finals, could not find a third upset on the grass.

The numbers laid out the gap. Noskova won 81.8 percent of her first-serve points (27 of 33) to Eala's 52 percent (13 of 25).

The Czech will now face Jessica Pegula in Sunday's final.

Eala leaves Berlin having made a deep run in a grass season that already includes the WTA 125 title in Birmingham earlier this month. Her timing is good, too, with Wimbledon beginning on 29 June.
